A BIT ABOUT ME
Hello!
I’m Lou - thanks so much for visiting my website.
After 20+ years in the corporate world, I’m lucky enough to be enjoying a career break in Singapore to indulge my passion for travel and explore suppressed creative interests ;)
I began renovating furniture after attending a painting workshop last year and have been overwhelmed by the interest in the pieces I’ve shared online and advertised for sale. I’m now truly addicted to sourcing and transforming little horses, houses and whatever else takes my fancy!
Starting Simply Lou has fitted seamlessly into my life. Since quitting work I’ve been trying to live more simply - having decluttered and downsized our home and keeping only loved possessions (yes, most of which seem to be in shades of white and grey!). I now have the physical and mental space to take on projects for others and love seeing the results and hearing from happy customers.
I’m currently working alone (with the exception of unwanted assistance from Bella the cat!) so word of mouth referrals are keeping me fully occupied. Please do pass on this site to anyone who may enjoy my work. I’m always open to feedback, ideas and suggestions.

When I see Lou's customised doll houses and rocking horses the first thought that comes to mind is what an explosion of creative energy! Mums and bubs simply love her designs and Lou uses baby-friendly paints and finishes. We were gifted a rocking horse for Emma's first birthday and she loves it!! Very different from anything you will buy in a store or online. Unique and elegant. Thank you Lou - you are a gem!

Thank you Lou for the amazing farm which was delivered today in perfect condition. It's unique and beautifully painted with such attention to little details , like the flowers in the window boxes. Ruby (2.5years) loves being able to make up stories with the animals, move them around the buildings and is telling everyone all about it!

I've been looking for the perfect kitchen for my son for a while. Although the Ikea kitchen was the most practical option that ticked most boxes, it was missing the aesthetics/personalisation. I wanted a piece that would look good on display in my main living area, and be proud that it's different from everyone else. I would have attempted to do it myself but just never had the time or the talent!
Lou's designs were exactly what I was looking for. Tasteful and minimalist which perfectly blended with my home, yet still fun for my son. It even came with extra little touches like a chalkboard for daily recipes and a coast with a bulldog to represent our own family pet.
Def worth paying a premium for. It's made both Mama and my son Alex very happy with many happy hours of play cooking together.

We decided to have our daughters dollshouse revamped as it was looking a little tired. We could not be happier with the outcome. Lou has literally transformed it into a modern day house. Her attention to detail is incredible. There are little personal touches everywhere including family photos on the wall. Lou was so lovely and her communication was great. I would highly recommend Simply Lou.
